In a storm

Most storms pass quickly, but high winds bring power cuts and hazards. A little preparation keeps everyone safe.

Before

• Charge phones and power banks while the mains is on.
• Secure or bring in anything outside that could blow around.
• Check the weather warnings for your area, and save the power cut line 105.

During

• Stay indoors, away from windows.
• Keep clear of the coast, trees, and any fallen power lines.

After

• Never touch a fallen power line: stay well back and call 105 to report it.
• Check on neighbours who might need help.
